IMPORT CONTROL
ISSUE OF LICENSES HEADY AS SOON AS POSSIBLE In order that businessmen could plan ahead as satisfactorily as possible, the committee which organised the mass meeting in Hamilton in December recently urged upon the Minister of Customs, the Hon. W. Nash, the desirability of issuing at an early date the import licenses for the fourth period of the control plan. The reply of the Minister was received by the committee, which met in Hamilton yesterday afternoon. In reply to the request, the Minister said an endeavour would be made for the issue of the licenses in respect of the fourth period as soon as possible.
