VALEDICTORY SOCIAL REV. FATHER SHORE HONOURED (Special to Times) OTOROHANGA, Thursday The Frlendlv Societies’ Hall, Otorohanga. was well rilled on the occasion of a rarewell to the Rev. Father Shore, who, for the past five vears has been priest in charge or the Roman Catholic combined parishes of Otorohanga, Te Kuitl and Pio Pio. The function took the form or a social and dance, Mr B. Sheehan being the principal Master or Ceremonies. Excellent dance music was contributed by Mestlames H. M. Quin and c. Whyte. Community singing was also enjoyed, Miss M. Dalziel providing the music. Vocal numbers were contributed by Mrs Ramsay <Te Mawlda), Father Shore, Messrs R. Richards and 11. Murphy 21, 30 (51); J. Coweni 20, 10 (30). Gun Club’s Shoot At the Otorohanga Gun Club's shoot, on the Island Reserve, the opening competitions, lor 1940, were neici. The principal results were.signal trophy, 15 birds; Murray Pratt and W. Seymour broke 14; T. McCready 13; J. Wiske and A. J. McCready 12. Club trophy (lo birds), the following Shot tiie possible—M. Pratt, T. McCready and J. Wiske. In the resulting shoot-oir Pratt defeated Wiske on the 18th round. Ten bird sweep—Pratt. Wiske, R. Carter and A. J. McCready shot the possible, while Seymour and T.
