TRANSPORT CONFERENCE
FIXATION OF PRICKS SOUTH AUCKLAND CHARGES Arising out of a suggestion made by the No. 1 Transport Licensing Authority, Mr E. J. Phelan, last year that those interested in the transport business should endeavour to arrive a! a basis of charges which, when agreed to, could be submitted to him for approval, a conference was held in Hamilton yesterday to consider the question of stabilising transport rates and fixing prices on a bas.s which would be uniform and equitable to all [ concerned. The meeting comprised representatives of local bodies, dairy I companies, the Farmers’ Union, the New Zealand Pig Marketing Associa- ■ lion and the Master Garners’ Aaaofia tiun throughout the South Auckland The conference was held in committee. No finality was reached and a tentative scale was referred to a committee for further consideration ; and report. =========
