OUT-PATIENTS CHARGED ANOMALY POINTED OUT (Special to Times.) INVERCARGILL, Monday An illustration of what he considered was an inconsistency in the social security benefits as they affected Xray treatment for in-patients and outpatients was given by Dr. J. A. Pottinger at a meeting of the Southland Hospital Board. Out-patients, he said, had to pay X-ray i'ees, hut inpatients had that service included with other benefits. “The other day," he continued, “a woman was sent down from Gore for an X-ray and demanded a bed. She said she was not going to hoard in town when she could get a bed lor nothing at the hospital, and she got her bed. By being admitted to the hospital a patient has the X-ray service free, but an out-patient has to pay.
