Gare is taken, for instance, that a thin neck is covered up, that an evening frock is not hung on shoulders “hollowed into salt-cellars,” that faulty legs are hidden by evening dress, that an ugly chest is concealed by a street frock, and that short girls are employed exclusively to display hats, jewellery, hair styles, and bathing costumes
