INTERVENTION NOT NEEDED MINISTER'S STATEMENT AUTOMATIC IN'VESTIG ATI ON “Ministerial intervention is not needed because the retail price of beer has been raised,” said the Hon. D. G. Sullivan, Minister of Industries and Commerce. When the prices were increased the increase must be notified and an investigation followed automatically. His attention was called to the fact that in the original announcement regarding the price tribunal the list of commodities to be covered included alcoholic beverages. He said there had been numerous cases where prices had been reduced following an f examination of the position by the tribunal and he had no doubt the tribunal would follow its normal procedure in considering the position.
