BOXING FARE
BOUTS STAGED IN HASTINGS (By Telegranh. Association) HASTINGS. Thursday A well-nilrd bouse witnessed two welter-weight bouts staged by the Hawke’s Bay Boxing Association in the Municipal Theatre last night, when Jack Davis (to.*' met Artie Kitt (10.6), and Bert McKay. Auckland (9.3' fought T. Hansen. Wellington (9.» . each bout of 10 three-minute rounds. Both bouts bad sudden endings. With a lightning left to the solar plexus McKay dropped Hansen for tlie count in the third round. Any suggestion of a foul was discounted when Hansen was examined by a doctor. The second bout had a somewhat sensational emlmg when Davis, who appeared to be taring the worse, dropped Kitt for the count in the eighth round.
