ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
WOMAN STRUCK BY TAXI AUCKLAND, Friday Mrs Ellen Harriet Esther Black, aged 42, of Eden Terrace, was seriously injured when struck by a taxicab at a street intersection last evening. She received concussion, broken ribs, and possibly a fractured collarbone. DIVE INTO CREEK RESCUE AFTER COLLISION WHAXGAREI, Thursday A collision occurred on the Piako Bridge, between Hikurangi and Kauri, between a motor-truck and a motorcycle. The cyclist, Mr Arthur Robert Mitchell, aged 42, of Whangarei, was thrown into the creek below, being rescued by Mr A. S. Campbell, the driver of the truck, who dived 14 feet from the bridge into the water. Mr Mitchell received a fracture of the hip aud two broken bones iu the leg.
