ACCEPTANCES DUE TO-DAV Acceptances for the Waipa Racing Club's Winter Meeting at Te Awamutu on June 2 4 close to-day at 5 p.m. with Blomlield and Company, Shortland Street, Auckland, and at 8 p.m. with the secretary, Mr J. G. Wynyard. Te Awamutu. To commemorate the opening of the new track to-morrow week a gold cup valued at £SO has been presented by Mr E. Montgomery to go to the owner of the winner of the W. G. Park Steeplechase. A gold-mounted whip will also he presented to the rider ox the winner. A trophy valued at £25 has been donated by Mr Allan Kay to go to the owner of the winner of the Andrew Kay Memorial Steeplechase. The trophy will be given annually. TROTTING SECRETARY ILL CHRISTCHURCH. Thursday Mr A. I. Rattray, secretary of the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting C/jb, underwent a serious operation a few days ago and although he is reported to he making steady progress, his convalescence may take some time.
