The emerald is the most precious of ali stones, but they must be flawless to attain such value. Few emeralds can be classed as such. Thirtv-six-year-old Armand Spiler. reprieved murderer who twice escaped from Devil's Island and four times from Frencii prisons, was brought to court from his life-term cell and solemnly sentenced to another ten months' imprisonment.
