The new • procedure will not apply to shipments 1 which may be imported prior to the end of June next under the import licenses which had been granted covering imports up to that date. Licenses After June 30 “Holders of licenses alreadygranted to import after June 30 should also immediately furnish to the director particulars of such licenses and of any commitments made thereunder as regards purchases overseas or sales in New Zealand. In order that a register may be compiled as early as possible, those interested in importing any of the goods mentioned, including those who have applied for or propose to apply for import licenses and also agents who sell such goods on an indent basis, should notify the Director of Internal Marketing not later than May 5 accordingly. “It is not proposed in the meantime,” concluded Mr Nash, “to disturb existing arrangements regarding the issue of licenses for shipments of fresh fruit and vegetables imported on consignment from the South Sea Islands and shipments of fresh pineapples imported on consignments from Australia. No license is required for shipments from Cook Islands and Western Samoa.”
