THAMES VALLEY SHOW PRESIDENT REVIEWS YEAR ('Special to Times) TE AROMA. Friday (Mr W. A. Clark presided Vast evening at the annual meeting- or the Thames Valiev Agricultural. Pastoral and -Horticultural Association, over a rair attendance or members. The catering- arrangements at the recent show wc;c undertaken by a committee or women and Hie service rendered to patrons was much appreciated. The report stated that the continued Increase in t/hp entries Tor the cattle section revealed the rising- importance of the show' and the question or raising- the prize money slum-id be seriously considered. The Turther Improvement shown in the home industries section was due to the Interest taken by the district’s women's and the association’s indebtedness under tins heading was gladly acknowledged. The report and balance sheet were adopted. Increased Receipts The chairman in referring in the success or the 1938 show spoke or the cooperation or the officials throughout. The receipts under the- main headings showed increased amounts, and the future or the association was bright. The balance sheet showed receipts £902 11s lid. the principal items being, subscriptions. £304 15s; gaie ; :, £IOO Os; entries, £127 14s 9d; and catering. £97 Ss. Expenditure >£B4 1 9s sd) included prizes, £294 Os sd; -salaries and wages £122 12s 6d; catering, £9O ins 7d: printing and stationery, £B9 10s ltd.
