STAFFS DEPLETED SORE THROATS PREVALENT The prevalence of seasonal colds and sore throats In Hamilton over the past week has seriously depleted the staffs of many business Arms, while school rolls were also considerably affected. Last week there was a great deal of sickness in Auckland and other towns but at that time it was stated that Hamilton was particularly free from , complaints. The seasonal change Is usually accompanied by autumn colds, but this year the position is worse in Hamilton than usual owing to the presence of a slight gastric disturbance. Medical upinion is that although there is no epidemic there is a good deal of sickness around the town. The cold, wet snap to-day will tend to make the. position a great deal more serious, stated one doctor who said every precaution was necessary. Colds were much more prevalent than at the same time last year.
