TEMPORARY HOLD UP
WORK O lt HILL. REMOVAL OVERHAUL OR MACHINERY With the break In the fine weather which has for so long favoured the work of excavating and removing Garden Place Hill, cartage of spoil has been temporarily interrupted and uo carting or excavating was done last evening or to-day. Advantage, how ever, is being taken by the subcontractor in charge of the excavation, Mr P. L. Guillard, to overhaul the three meehanJeal excavators during the temporary stoppage so that the machines wjj be ready once more to work at full capacity when more favourable conditions for cartage obtain. It is understood that to Improve access to the faces being worked at the rear of the hill temporary tracks of loose meial may be laid for use by the trucks in wet weather.
