TRAGIC HONEYMOON

DEATH OF BRIDEGROOM HAMILTON RESIDENT’S COLLAPSE Married in St. Paul’s Church, London Street, only a week ago Mr Leonard Allan John Walker, aged 28, of V&rdon Road, Te Rapa, died suddenly yesterday morning while on his honeymoon at* Cowes Bay, Waiheke Island. Mr Walker, who was the eldest son of Mrs C. A. Walker and the late Mr Walker, of Te Rapa, was educated at the Westport High School and came to Hamilton about 11 years ago. Since then he has been employed by the Hamilton Hardware Company, Limited, and was well known by members of the building trades in Hamilton. Mr WalETer was keenly interested in the work of St. Paul’s Methodist Church and was also a member of St. Paul’s Badminton Club. Last Saturday he was married to Miss Jennie Gje.anlock, daughter of Mr and Mrs C. A. Gowanlock, of 47 Ulster Street. Miss Gowanlock, who came from Bolton, England, aJDout 18 years ago was educated at the. Whitiora School and the Hamilton Technical School. Mr Walker’s body was taken to Auckland by launch and an inquest i was opened before Mr W. R. McKean, S.M. After evidence of identification j was given the inquest was adjourned. | The funeral left St. Paul s Methodist j Church this afternoon for the Hamilton East Cemetery.
