81 ST BIRTHDAY CELEBRATED MR JOHN CLARKE HONOURED (Special to Times) TE AROHA, Thursday To celebrate the 81st birthday of Mr John Clarke, of Waihou, nearly 40 of his children and grand-children met at the home of his daughter. Mrs A. H. Linnard, at Waihou. Relatives from Auckland, Whakatane, Te Awamutu and Tauranga. and eight of Mr Clarke's ten children were present. Mr Clarke came from Glasgow to Dunedin in the sailing ship Wellington in 1876, the voyage occupying 95 days.
