NEW ZEALANDERS’ FAITH
(To the Editor) Sir, —We read a lot of what Mr Hamilton and his party are telling the people —that the Labour Government is putting New Zealand on the rocks. They say that capital is not being invested in New Zealand. Just look at the figures for capital investment, also the number of companies registered. I will give you the real facts: — Number Total Year or Companies Capital 1929-30 21 16 £45,155,225 1931-32 2167 £43,605,907 1935- 2422 £14,280,744 1936- 2525 £49,'286,2 IS 1937- 2092 £52,900,452 These figures show that New Zealand is better off to-day and that more investment is going on. It is better today than in the peak year of prosperity under the Tories. New Zealand is not a bad country to live in after all. I say stick to the Labour Government and all will come out well. The black wolf is dead; we killed it before it came around the corner.—l am, etc., J. MOODY. Hamilton, April 10.
