ILLEGAL PARKING

CONVICTED IN COURT

Leonard H. Armstrong, placement officer, Tauranga, was prosecuted before Mr S. L. Paterson, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court, Hamilton, to-day, for parking in a prohibited area in Victoria Street. The prosecution was conducted by Mr W. E. Nicholson, chief traffic inspector of the Hamilton Borough Council. The traffic inspector said Armstrong parked his car right in the centre of an area adjoining the Ward Street intersection which had to be kept vacant by State law.

“Armstrong put forth quite a good story, hut if I allow one person to do it others will be tempted to commit a breach.” commented witness.

Defendant was convicted and ordered to pay the costs of the prosecution.
