BRIGHT REVUE

STANLEY INcKAY GAIETIES Much of the brightness of Stanley McKay’s New Gaieties, the vaudeville revue company at present appearing in their four nights’ season at the Theatre Royal, is due to the colourful frocking of the principals and ballet girls. One of the most effective frocks worn by Stella Lamond, the clever personality girl, was an evening gown of Canton green crepe Glamis cut on lovely lines and trimmed with diamante “frogs.” With this she wore a cowl hood of the same material which formed a charmintg frame around her face. Nellie Kolle, famous male impersonator, looked as Iways, very much at home in her navy blue “tails” and opera hat. Stella 'Collier wore some graceful gowns, perhaps the most outstanding being one* of black chiffon velvet, trimntfed with silver lame. The varied costumes of the ballet ranged from smart little scarlet and white suits to sweeping black skirts trimmed with while tulle niching and worn with tiny brassiere tops and lung black gloves. The apple green taffeta Princess frock and bonnet worn by Dolly Donoughoe in the item "The Loveliness of You” was off-set by the striking orange and black costumes of the ballet. Lavender and green were the colours chosen in the item “Happy Times are Here” and. with a set of peach satin and lace costumes as their rivals, were perhaps the most attractive of the vivid display of colours.
