ROSS—PETERSEN I I DIAMANTE STUDDED FROCK The wedding took place at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Ramil- J ton, on March 25, when Mavis Mildred, 1 third daughter of Mr and Mrs C. A. ) Petersen, of Marama Street, Hamilton, ! was married to Samuel Tawse, third son of Mr and Mrs J. A. Ross, River ! Road, Hamilton. The ceremony was j performed by the Rev. H. G. Gilbert and Mr E. 11. Apthorp presided at the organ. The church had been charmingly arranged with autumn flowers by friends of the bride.

The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a lovely gown of pearl satin embroidered with diamante, the corsage of which was ruched down the front and finished with a high Victorian collar. The sleeves were tight-fitting from the elbow to points over the hands. The slim-fitting skirt fell to form a graceful train, which was adorned with appliqued flowers and diamante studding. Iler embroidered tulle veil was caught to the head by a halo of orange blossom and she carried a shower bouquet of ivory roses, carnations and chrysanthemums arranged with maidenhair fern. Miss Dora Petersen and Miss Joan Thompson were in attendance as bridesmaids. They were similarly attired in valley green net redingotes over taffeta, designed with short puffed sleeves, the high necklines being caught with a tiny gold posy. Gold ribbon bows fell from the waistlines of the full skirts, which were trimmed with frills. They carried bouquets of golden-sfyaded dahlias, chrysanthemums and maidenhair tied with gold ribbon. The best man was Mr C. Petersen and the groomsman was Mr J. Ross. The ushers at the church were Mr L. Holmes and Mr A. Turner. As the bride left the church she was presented with a white satin horseshoe by little Bell Winship, of Auckland. The Reception Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Wattle Tearooms, which had been artistically decorated in autumn flowers. Airs Petersen received the guests wearing a black Swiss embroidered redingote and accessories to tone. She wore a red and gold shoulder spray. The mother of the bridegroom wore a navy siJk frock and lace coat and a red and gold shoulder spray. Pianoforte solos were rendered by Mr B. Whitehead and vocal solos by Miss Jean Owens during the reception. When Mr and Mrs S. T. Ross left by car for a tour of the North Island, the bride travelled in a nigger brown tailored suit, with accessories to tone and a fur stole. They will make their home in Hamilton.
