CORRESPONDENCE PUPILS A VARIED PROGRAMME (By Telegraph—press Association) WELLINGTON, Tuesday A vacation school for pupils of the correspondence school will be held at New Plymouth from May 8 to May 20. The headmaster, Mr Butchers, said to-day ihe splendid hostels of the girls and boys’ high schools there had been made available and it was estimated 200 pupils of the correspondence school would attend from both islands. They would travel in charge of members of the teaching staff and they would rub shoulders with one another and enjoy health, exercises and sports. There would be an opportunity of practical work in handcraft, woodwork, ncedlecraft. cookinpr, typewriting, art and scientific experiments, singing and band work, etc., in preparation for a concert at the end of the school. Nature study rambles and historical and geograpical excursions would be undertaken. A concession in railway fares would be given hv the Railway Department and the Education Department is allowing either 7s 6rl a week boarding allowance or actual travelling expenses, a maximum of 22s 6<j.
