MAN SEVERELY BURNED
POWER LINEB CONTACTED (Special to Times.) HASTINGS, Tuesday Mr R. McCartney, married, of Taradale, suffered severe burns, shock and head injuries when he contacted high-power electric lines while painting his house. He is in the hospital, his condition being serious. OOLUBION WITH TREE (Special to Times) TE PUKE, Tuesday Messrs N. Reynolds and R. Longiporth., of Te Puke, were injured near the Kaituoa bridge when their car collided with a poplar tree. Mr Reynolds suffered a broken hip and Mr Longworth cuts and abrasions. Miss Riddell, a passenger, escaped injury. The car was extensively damaged. STRUCK A POST HORSEMAN INJURED Mr James Wright (31), a farm hand employed by Mr A. Edkins, of Te Aroha, was admitted to the Waikato Hospital last evening with injuries to the head and knees received when his horse crashed into a post. Mr Wright's condition is regarded as satisfactory.
