Mrs M. A. Bell, of Waikato, will •pend a month in London and will then leave for Cornwall and Scotland. Mrs G. Seifert, of Hamilton, Is the guest of her sister-in-law, Mrs L. Seifert, of Victoria Avenue. Mrs L. Seifert, Junr.. of Palmerston North, who Is studying- the violin in London, has l>6en promoted to the second orchestra at the Royal College of Music. Mrs Eric Taine, who has been absent from Hamilton for some time, has returned. Mrs Josepi Crawford, Hamilton, •pent the week-end In Auckland. Mrs Carl Sergei, formerly Miss Deena Wilkes, sailed last evening by the Monterey for Borneo. Mrs F. L. Smith Is visiting Hamilton. Mrs E. Balner. of Matamata, and Mrs A. Goodwin, of Gisborne, are visiting Hamilton as the guests of Mrs G. J. Balner. Mrs J. W. Anderson. Wanganui, was a recent visitor to Hamilton. Miss Gladys Moncrieff. the wellknown Australian soprano, arrived at Wellington by the Wanganella recently to make a tour under engagement to the National Broadcasting Service. Mis* MoncriefT was to have arrived in New Zealand last April to carry out her contract to the service, but was badly injured in an accident in March of last year. Miss Moncrieff is accompanied by her manager, Mr Iredale, who was also involved in the accident, and Miss E. Wilson, who for eight year* has travelled with her.
CAMBRIDGE Mrs C. M. G. Nicholson and Miss Corlett, who have been visiting Auckland, have returned home. • • • • Mrs McDonald, late of Cambridge, who spent Baster at the Midland Hotel, has now returned to Gisborne. • * • * Miss Kathleen Sullivan, who has been spending three month's leave at her home at Cambridge, has returned to Join the nursing staiT of the Masterton Hospital. * • • * Miss Daphne Morse, who has been holidaying at Taranaki, has returned to Cambridge. • • • • Mrs J. Cornthwaite and Mrs Holdsworth, of Waihi, are guests, at "Kelburne.” » • • * Mrs G. Henry has returned to Opotiki, after spending Easter at Cambridge. • • • • Miss Grace Harbutt has returned to Wellington, after staying with her mother, Mrs Wilfred Harbutt. • * * * Mrs J. Catran and Miss V. Catran were recent visitors to Auckland. m • • • Miss Jocelyn Rush, who has been the guest of Mrs C. Allan, of Northcote, has returned to Cambridge.
