COMING IN SLOWLY

SECURITY REGISTRATIONS ABOUT 10,000 ANTICIPATED Registrations under the social security legislation on the part of married women and persons over 10 who have not previously been registered under Uie employment promotion regulations is proceeding relatively slowly in Hamilton, according to advice received to-day from the Post and Telegraph Department. Out of an anticipated total of about 10.000 such registrations in the Hamilton district, only some 800 have so far been dealt with, the volume of business being only sufficient to keep one employed. Since registrations, however, have to be completed by May i. a considerable acceleration in this branch of the new department’s activity is anticipated after Easter and arrangements have been made for the sfafT handling registrations to move to the officos in Knox Street, vacated Pensions Department, about Thursday of next week. More coi lion there will enable offieiais to deal expeditiously with any last-minute rush on the part of applicants.
