CONDITIONS. /. Entries for all classes must be lodged with the Secretary on or before Saturday, May 6th. Entrance fee will be: Adults 2, -, Children 1 -. Fees must be paid at time of entry and no entry will be recorded which is not accompanied by fees in full. The Committee reserves the right to refuse any entry. 2. Competitions for Amateurs only, Amateurs to mean one whose income is not mainly derived from the exercise of one's talents in the particular section in which one may compete. 3. Adjudicators : Communication with the Adjudicators either by Competitors. Teachers, or other interested parties, prior to or during the Competitions, is absolutely prohibited, and the Committee reserves the right to disqualify a Competitor for any breach of this rule. 4. Accompanist : Competitors may provide their own accompanist, but an efficient accompanist will be provided for any who may require such services. 5. Competitors in Vocal and Instrumental Setcions giving “Own Selection” items must forward copies at time of entry for use of Judge, copies to have competitor's name and the number of the class for which it is entered clearly marked on the front page. All such copies will be returned on application. In all Own Selections the Adjudicator will give consideration to the quality of selection. Competitors must adhere to the selection set down against their names in the programme. 6. Prize Winners’ Concert: At the close of the Competitions a Demonstration Concert will be held, in which the successful Competitors must take part if called upon to do so, failing which the Committee may with-hold all prizes won by such Competitors. 7. Protests: Competitors desiring to enter a protest must lodge the same in writing with the Secretary, stating the grounds on which it is based, together with a sum of 10/-. Should the protest, upon investigation by the Protest Committee, be deemed frivolous or unfounded the deposit may be forfeited. No protest will be entertained unless made within twelve hours after the Adjudicator’s award is announced in the particular class. The decision of the Protest Committee Jhall be final. 8. General Reservation: The Committee reser"es to itself the right of determining the status of all Competitors, and of applying and interpreting these Rules, and the decision of the Committee in all matters to be final. 9. Teachers or parents will not be allowed at back of stage. 10. In the National Dancing Competitions, competitors must be registered with the Piping and Dancing Association of New Zealand Inc. Applications for registration may be made up to actual commencement of the competition. Registration Fee, Competitors under 18 years 1/-, Competitors 18 years and over 2/6. (N.B. This must not be confused with entries which close on Saturday May 6th, 1939. *’ 11. In all cases where the age of competitors is a condition the competitor must be under the given age at the opening date of the Show, viz. May 30th, 1939.
