Thursday Moorsotis. a Champagne Stakes candidate. put up the best six Turlongs at Riccarton this morning, running the distance in 1.14 3-5. an attractive effort. Density, a Great Easter lightweight, ran seven furlongs in 1.28 3-5, showing her customary brilliance over the first hair-mile run in 47 3-ss. Both these gallops were on the plough, which was more in favour than the outside of the course proper. Paper Slipper, Haughty Winner and Rabble were others to work well over seven furlongs, while Nightcalm and Master Hotspur pleased over six. Wild Chase, with Great Flight as a mate over the last five furlongs took 1.31 for seven, the ia<t th»*ee in 37 3-ss. Sovereign Lady went about a mile and a-quarter, the last seven furlongs being Royal Chief, with Settlement Joining in arter a furlong, registered 1.4 3 Tor a mile. They finished on terms after going at an even pace all the way. Not Out and Rex Maitland, arter doing the first Three in 3 8 3-ss, completed six Turlongs in 1.18 3-5. Paper Slipper went freelv over seven Turlongs in 1.29 1-5, the last three in 37 1-55. Prudent Prince wa«= a neck in front or Spear over five furlongs in 1.3 Wild Talk was not hurried over six in 1.20 2-5, In The Dark following in l.is 4-5. Argentic beat Fideiis bv hair-a-length over six furlongs in 1.17 3-5, while Elegv was clear or Chit Chat after taking 1.19 3-5. Best of the Morning Moorsotis, brought home by Night Shirt, ran six Turlongs in 1.14 3-5, after doing the first three In 36 4-ss. it was the smartest gallop of the morning. Haughty Winner was a neck in Trent of Raibble at the end of seven furlongs in 1.29 1-5, the last three in 37 l-ss. Royal Huntress and Hunting Ree w re several lengths In Tront or Trumpeter Sound at the end or hair-a-mile in 50 2-5> Plumage and Dranoll ran a mile in 1 45 3-5, the last hair in 52 1-ss, with Plumage just in Tront. Density and Waka started off on terms Trom the seven furlong post but Density showing brilliant speed, chared out from her mate. She was a long way in Iron: when she registered 47 3-5 s for the first hair-mile and though she was slowing up appreciably she completed her task in 1.28 3-ss. She is likely to set a merry pace in the Great Easter. Rebellion, arter doing the first three in 37 1 -ss, completed six furlongs easily in 1.17 1-5. Montessa and Benevolent sprinted half-a-mile in 50 l-ss. Palyra easily beat Rebel Chief over six furlongs in 1.16 1-5, after doing the first three in 36 3-ss. Flame Queen was well clear or Bright Prospect over five Turlongs in 1.5 3-5 Nightcalm ran his first three furlongs In 36 1 -5s and finished up with 1.15 3-5 Tor 6ix. Queen of Song Fit Queen or Song went well over a mile in 1.44 2-5. Knight Commander and Miss Tasta took 1.4 Tor five furlongs. Master Hotspur cleared out Trom Spartan over six furlongs, ihe first three being done in 36 2-5 s and the full distance in 1.15 1-5. screamer beat The Duel over six furlongs in 1.1 S 4-5. and Second Innings sprinted hair-a-rnile in 50 2-5.5. Parquet was always going better Than Golden Chest over a mile, the first halfmile in 52 2-os and the full Journey in 1.43* 3-5. Gay Hu=sar and -Sir Gladsome took 1.5 for five furlongs. On the course proper Rebel Queen took 1.4 4-5 for five furlongs, the last four furlongs in 51 2-ss. Wine Card and Shanghai Lily were on terms though the rormer was going a little the better over five furlongs in 1.3 2-5. Night Hawk took 39 2-5 s for the nVst three and finished up over seven furlongs in 1.31 2-5. Dictate, going off slowly and taking 4 0 2-5 s Tor the first three furlongs, completed seven in 1.31 3-5.
