TE RAPA GALLOPS
LITTLE ACTIVITY SHOWN NOITARO—MASTER BRIERLY RESPECTFUL OVER SIX (By “Martian”) Despite the near approach of the Easter meetings there was little activity apparent at Te Rapa this morning A. J. Julian, M. J- Carroll and J. F. Tutchen having left with their respective teams. Carroll going through to Feilding and the others to Ellerslie. The course proper and the plough were both available for galloping ami provided fast going. On the course proper, about 40ft. out from the rails, Wyndora (Lo"jg) and Commemoration Main) got to the end of five furlongs in 1.6. Both shaped well and appear to be on the upgrade. Respectful (Ensor) and Dark Shadow (Goulsbro) were associated over six furlongs the former finishing clear of his companion in 1.20 3-5. Respectful is in nice order for his Easter Handicap engagement this week and impressed by the manner in which he was revelling in Ills work over the concluding stages of the trialMio Generale (Winder), Kittle Goulsbro) and a Hunting Song filly (Day) dashed over three furlongs along the back in 30s. Noitaro Hits Out Noitaro (Day) was doing better than Master Briefly (McKenzie) over the concluding stages of six furlongs in 1.21 2-5. the first half-mile being traversed in 56 l-ss. Noitaro is in good order for racing on the latter day at Ellerslie. On the plough Hun to (McKenzie) ran two furlongs along the back in 24 2-ss. Sergia (Long) hit out solidly over six furlongs but was not timed. She looks all the better for recent racing. N. R. McKenzie has been engaged to ride Master Brierly, Gay Opal and Our Jean in Ellerslie engagements.
