CONSCRIPTION FOR FOREIGNERS MANY VOLUNTEER TO FIGHT (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) LONDON, Dec. 28 A Bill tabled in the French Senate proposes that foreigner# ‘working in France shall be liable to conscription on the same terms as Frenchmen. The sponsor ol' the Bill is Senator Reibel, who explains that foreigners making their homes in France cannot expect just to sit back and allow Frenchmen to light for them. The Times' Paris correspondent points out that during the September crisis the French General Staff ascertained that 7u,U00 Italian immigrants were ready to fight on France’s side if war broke out. The total number of foreigners, who volunteered their services between September 20 and September 30, exceeded 100,000, including many Germans and Poles.
