NEW APPOINTMENT

BIG DAIRY COMPANY ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER MR H. W. DAYEY SELECTED At a meeting of the directorate of the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company, Limited, yesterday, it was decided to appoint an assistant general manager of the company and Mr 11. \V. Bavey, of the head office staff, was appointed to the position. Mr Davev has had long service with the company, having been an employee since its inception. He joined the Waikato Co-operative Dairy Company in 1915 and after two years in the office of the company was transferred to the Frankton factory for a full -season to gain practical experience. He then returned to head office and over a period of years gained valuable experience in all departments- lie was cashier and ledger-keeper at the time of the amalgamation and the formation of the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company. In 1919 Mr Davey transferred to the New Zealand Dairy Association head office in Auckland to take charge of the Deductions Department and w’hen the head office was shifted to Hamilton he took charge of the ledger and butterfat departments. In 1927 he w r as appointed chief clerk to the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company. He then joined the executive staff and gained further experience in various departments, having charge of the construction department for some time. During the past year Mr Davey has been conducting suppliers' meetings in various parts of the company’s territory. Commenting upon the appointment, Mr C. J. Parlane, general manager, stated that It was gratifying to see a member of the staff, who had given such vlauable service, given the position. Mr Davey was a man who had gained wide experience in ail departments and he w’as also well and favourably known by all suppliers.
