WEDDING AT TE AWAMUTU

WATSON —PEARTE A wedding of interest to Te Awamutu and district was solemnised at St. John’s Anglican Church, Te Awamutu, on the evening of March 26, when Dorothea Ailsa, second daughter of Mr and Mrs J. \V. Pearte, of Te Awamutu, was married to Arthur Signor, fifth son of Mrs and the late Mr A. Watson, of Waipukurau. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. M. Sullivan and Miss P. North presided at the organ. The church had been beautifully arranged with white and mauve asters. The bride, who was given away by her mother, wore a beautiful gown of white embossed satin cut on slimfitting lines, and falling to a long train. Buttons of the same material finished the frock from the neckline to the hemline, the full sleeves finishing in points over the hands. Her tulle veil was held in place with a halo coronet of tulle and orange blossom and she carried a sheaf of white dahlias, roses, carnations and maidenhair fern. She was attended by two bridesmaids, Miss Joyce Bindon and Miss Velma Gilpin, both of Auckland, a flower girl, Pamela Langmuir, and Rex Beale, as page-boy. The maids wore graceful frocks of white satin embossed cloque, tight-fitting to the knees and flaring fully to the hemline. The bodices, fashioned with pointed collars and short Gibson sleeves, were finished with small buttons. They wore headdresses of white tulle with shoulder-length veils worn over the face and falling over a coronet of red velvet flowers and leaves. Cascade bouquets of red dahlias and maidenhair fern were carried. The flower girl wore a redingote of white georgette over white satin, edged with satin bands and falling to a slight train. A band of white gardenias was worn in her hair and she carried a basket of red and white dahlias. The page-boy wore “ tails.” Mr B. Pearte, brother of the bride, was best man, and Mr T. Mason, of Auckland, was groomsman. The Regent Lounge, where the reception was held after the ceremony, was artistically decorated in shades of red and white, the tables being arranged with vases of asters. The guests were received by Mrs Pearte wearing a graceful frock of oyster centenary lace and a small spotted tulle veil worn on the hair and clasped with a velvet band. She carried a posy of pink dahlias, roses and carnations. The bridegroom's mother was wearing a smart frock of navy floral crepe-de-chine and a navy picture hat. Her posy was composed of autumn-tinted dahlias and maidenhair fern. When Mr and Mrs A. S.
