GENERAL ELECTION
MARLBOROUGH SEAT NATIONAL PARTY CANDIDATE . (By Telegraph.—press Association 1 BLENHEIM, Friday Mr E. F. Healy was selected by the local branch of the National Party ) last night to contest the Marlborough . seat at the general election. There were three nominations but Mr Healy secured an absolute majority over Mr J. A. Reilly, storekeeper, of Seddon, and Mr J. W. Douglas, farmer, of Blenheim, in a straightout ballot. The nomination is subject to the approval of Dominion headquarters. Mr Healey, who is an auctioneer and land agent in Blenheim, represented the Electorate, then Wairau, as a United in two Parliaments but was defeated last election. Mr E. P. Meachen is sitting member.
