BUILDING OF HOUSES REMOVAL OF SLUMS (Omclal wtreless) RUGBY, Feb. 15. The Minister of Health, Sir Kingsley Wood, ill moving the second reading in the House of Commons of the new Housing Bill, said it had been estimated originally that 600,000 >ie\v houses were required the 'Government's slum clearance and overcrowding' programme. Of tha't total 2PU.COO had been built and 70,000 were under construction. Building prices were steadying and the local authorities were again receiving more tenders^
