EIGHTY-NINE JOBS
PLACEMENT OFFICE WEEK Placements totalling 89 were made by the Hamilton branch of the State Placement Service during the week just ended, the total including 40 private positions, 48 placements in various forms of State enterprise and one female placement, stated Mr J. D. Hlslop, officer-In-charge of the Hamilton branch, to-day. The private employment found included 32 permanent jobs, two temporary and six casual placements. "Building in the district is on the increase and there is a keen demand for carpenters and other skilled tradesmen engaged in this Industry,” said Mr Hislop. "Motor mechanlos, especially A grade men, are also sought on all sides, but extreme difficulty is being experienced in supplying qualified men."
