OPENING DINNER
BUSINEBB A PROFESSIONAL CLUB INTERESTING TRAVEL TALK The Y.W.C.A. Business and Professional Women's Club held its first dinner of the year in the Centreway Rooms on Tuesday. Miss Foulston presided in the absence of the president, Miss Young. After dinner the Y.W.C.A- secretary, Miss M. Mawson, gave a very interesting talk on her travels, taking for the chief part her experiences in the World Youth Congress held at Geneva. The Congress was attended by representatives of all youth organisations. she said, yet, despite the wide difference of opinion on general topics, there was unanimous agreement that they could all work together for peace. Miss Mawson also described the youth hostel movement in England/ Scotland and the Continent. These hostels, which are provided to encourage healthy living, are open to all at a very small cost. An enjoyable time was also spent inspecting photographs taken by the speaker on her trip. A hearty vote of thanks was extended to Miss Mawson by Miss R. Hewison.
