OBITUARY

MR WALTER GRAY (Special to Times) AUCKLAND, Tuesday The death occurred yesterday of Mr Walter Gray, a teacher of singing for many years in Auckland. lie was formerly principal tenor with the Gilbert and Sullivan operas under D’Oyley Carte in England and also sang with the Carl Rosa Opera Company. Mr Gray married Miss Annette Hayward (sister to Mr Henry Hayward). He is survived by two sons—Mr York Gray manager of the Embassy Theatre, and Mr Walter Gray, Jun., manager of St. James’ Theatre, Wellington and formerly manager of the Regent Theatre Hamilton; also three daughters, Mrs Louis Jenkinson (Herne Bay), Mrs J. Jenkinson (Christchurch) and Mrs Nancy Godart (Auckland). DR. HAMILTON GILMER (By Telegraph—Special to Times) WELLINGTON, Monday The death has occurred in England of Dr. Hamilton A. 11. Gilmer, of Wellington, aged 62. Born in Greymouth. he was educated at Wanganui Collegiate School, Wellington College, Otago University and Edinburgh University, taking medical degrees at the latter two places. He returned to New ! Zealand in 1902 and practised in Wellington until bh recent retirement. He went abroad on a health trip. He was well known in sport and was connected with many interests in and out side <»f Wellington. He is survived by his second wife, three sons and three daughters.
