The English county cricket competitions were continued, with the following results: —[ Surrey v. Warwickshire. —Surrey, first innings, 494 (Squires 133, Barling 121). Warwickshire, first innings, 195 (Gover 6 for 00). Following on they made 109 (Gover 7 for 43). Surrey won by an innings and 190 Hampshire v. Yorkshire.—Hampshire, first innings, 180; second innings, 182 (Smailes 6 for 50). Yorkshire, first innings. 244 (Turner 84), second innings, 6 for 119 (Hill 5 for 42) Yorkshire won by four wickets. Essex v. Kent. —Essex, first innings, 313 (Wilcox 104); •second innings, 4 for 275 declared (Wilcox 129). Kent, first innings, 187 (Woolley 85, P. Smith 6 for 64); second innings, 142 (P. Smith 6 for 65). Essex won by 259 runs. Sussex v. Nottinghamshire. —Sussex, first innings, 440 (J. Parks 104, John Langridge 128, Larwood 6 for 98) ; second innings, 6 for 170 (declared). Nottinghamshire, first. Innings, 354 (Gunn 110, J. Conford 7 for 74); second innings, 1 for 156. Sussex won on the first innings. Lancashire v.
