BUSHMAN INJURED. STRUCK BY SAPLING. A bushman, Mr Vernon Stubbs (23) received fairly serious injuries yesterday. When in felling a tree at Glen Massey a sapling swung up, striking him in the eye. The Injured man was admitted to the Waikato Hospital. MOTORIST KILLED. TAIHAPE, Thursday. Mr Leonard Harold Floyd (40), of .'oawhango was killed when his l iQtor-ear capsized in a swamp. The l»r left the road and overturned in iiireo feet of water and mud, pinning Mr Floyd underneath. He leaves a widow and two children. BODY IN RIVER. WANGANUI, Thursday. That death was due to heart failure following exposure to cold water and the exertion of struggling was tho verdict returned at the inquest into the death of Mr .Tames Lutty (58), retired farmer, of Maxwell, whose body was found floating in the Wanganui River near tho town bridge on July 7. The coroner commented that there was no evidence to show how the' deceased came to be in the river. FALL OVER CLIFF. WANGANUI. Thursday. A verdict of accidental death was returned at the inquest into the dentil ot Mr Bertram Leslie Plank, single who died In the Wanganui Hospital on June IS as a result of injuries received on the previous day when he foil over a cliff at Jerusalem, on the Wanganui River. DIED IN DENTAL ROOMS. ni NKDJN, Thursday. Mr Leslie Barrett (27). married, died under an anaesthetic while having teeth extracted in a local dental room.
