SUCCESSFUL EVENING.

NGAHINAPOURI SOCIAL CLUB. Another most successful evening was held by the Ng-ahinapouri Young People’s Social Club recently. Community singing was followed by an interesting debate, “That the British Commonwealth of Nations is essential to New Zealand’s existence as a Nation,” which was very much enjoyed. Speakers for the affirmative were Messrs J. O'Regan, E. Wing, R. Burrows, and for the negative, T. Spooner, G. Platt, M. Cummings. Mr E. Reid was in the chair.

The remainder of the evening was taken up with social games, after which supper brought a most successful evening to a close.
