The State Department has issued a statement that the presence of the Hon. W. Nash (New Zealand Finance Minister) although it offered an opportunity for improving American New Zealand trade relations, naturally could not lead to a specific conclusion or commitments. The discussions now indicated if and when circumstances were favourable for conversations there may be satisfactory ■possibilities of fruitful mutual beneficial result.
