BRIDGE PARTY.
FOR BRIDE-TO-BE. On Thursday evening Mrs S. Haines, of Cambridge, was hostess at a blue gift evening arranged in honour of Mss Betty Martin whose marriage to Mr Fairlie Vincent will take place shortly. Vases of Iceland poppies, autumn shaded chrysanthemums and scarlet berries were charmingly arranged to decorate the sitting room. A pleasant evening was spent in playing flag bridge in which Mrs lan Oliver was the prize-winner. A limerick competition, the subject toeing the guest of honour caused much amusement, Mrs Brian Oliver's contribution being voted the best. Mrs Haines received ivar guests wearing a frock of apple green lace and Miss Betty Martyn wore a frock of blue-sprigged peach pink satin. Among those present were:—Mesdames Martyn wearing navy satin. Allan, black taffeta and lace, lan Oliver, rose patterned dimity: Alan Hill, floral georgette and flame coloured coatee; Neil Carr-Smith, lavendar self-striped crepe. Misses Nancy Martyn. ciel blue sand crepe; Nancy Moyes, lilac floral taffeta; Cynthia Hewet.f, Coronation blue figured marocain; Koa Day, autumn floral ninon; Barbara Taylor, parchment lace over pink satin; Joan Sayers, black velvet and silver lame.
