AN AOTIVE DEMAND. United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright LONDON, May 30. At the wool sales 8781 bale* were offered. Including 4534 of New Zealand, 6993 bales being sold. There was a good selection and an active demand for crossbreds, especially from the Home trade at full rates.
Merinos were quieter and largely withdrawn. New Zealand lots sold as follows: Scoured merinos. “Punawal,’’ top price 334 d. average 33 Jd. Greasy crossbred. "Braxton" top price 19d, average 17id. „
