SERIOUS CHARGES.

FARM MANAGER CHARGED. NEW PLYMOUTH, Monday. The efforts of two police officers to arrest a man in an isolated district near Whangamomona were recounted in the Supreme Court at New Plymouth to-day before Mr Justice Reed, when William Joseph Fox, a farm manager, of Aotuhia, faced several charges, including one of attempting to murder Detective Patrick Kearney. The other charges were of discharging a firearm with intent to resist arrest, attempting to cause grievous bodily harm and of aggravated and common assault against two police officers. Evidence for the Crown on the lines of that given in the Lower Court on February 4 occupied the Court all day.
