METHODIST CHURCH.
ORDINATION OF MINISTERS. (Special to Times). AUCKLAND, Monday. _ The annual ordination and induction servioes were held by the Dominion Methodist Conference yesterday. Six ministers, the Rev. B. M. Crystall, the Rev. J. A. Dalglish, the Rev. J. L. Mitchell, the Rev. A. Everil Orr, the Rev. R. E. Patchett and the Rev. A. E. Waite, who had served their fouryear probationary period, where ordained. Four deaconesses, Sister E. Beer, Sister H. Te Teira, Sister R. Taylor and Sister M. Kippenberger were inducted at a service at the Mount Eden Methodist Church in the evening. The report of a conference committee on church finance in which the establishment of a board in Christchurch for collecting data relating to , connexional finance was suggested. In 1 stating that the board should be authorised to formulate a campaign of ! systematic giving, the convener of the I committee, Mr J. M. Thompson, of I Wellington, said an additional contri--1 buton of 4s a week from each family I would add about £156,000 to the InI come of the church. On the motion of Dr. C. H. Laws, the report was received, consideration being deferred until the committee had presented a further statement to Synod and Conference setting out clearly what the proposals involved and how and at what, cost the necessary preliminary inquiries could, be undertaken.
