FIRST ANNUAL DANCE.

HAMILTON EAST OLD PUPILS. HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL FUNCTION. A memorable function, the first annual dance of the Hamilton East Old Pupils’ Association, held on Saturday evening in the Masonic Hall, attracted an exceedingly large number of old pupils and their friends, the hall being filled to its capacity. A carnival spirit marked the evening, which was an undoubted success from the commencement and augurs well for further functions of the association. I Streamers in blue and 'black, the association colours, swayed overhead with gay clusters of multi-coloured I balloons ‘ which later were let down | for a balloon dance, and lovely bowls of rhododendrons and camellias looked most attractive on the orchestral dais. Excellent music was played by the Mayfair Orchestra, and streamer and novelty dances added further to the gaiety of the evening. Extras by 'Mr Ken Martin were very greatly enjoyed. During the evening tap dances 'by Mr T. Barnett, with Mr K. Martin at the piano, were warmly appreciated by the many present. The HALS. Philomel football team, with Chief Petty Officer 'H. i C. Luke in charge, were the guests of the association during the evening.
