WALTON FUNCTION.
BUCCESBFUL EVENING. The Women’s Institute and the Te Aroha Caledonian Pipe Band held a most successful evening in the Walton Hall recently, over 300 people attending. The 'band had charge of the programme. Those taking part were Kathleen Baker, Margaret Mackay, Margot McLeod, Bernice Mackay, and Irene Martin (Highland 'Reel), Miss Monica Brennon (song), Mr F. H. Vincent (monologues). The band played all the old-time dances. In the absence of Mr N. G. McLeod, senior chieftain, the Rev. J. Haslop presided, and Mr J. Excell was M.C. Mrs <C. 'Given, president of the Wonien'g Institute, thanked all present.
