Ci A. llislop, Mayor of \\'el—lington, hats written to the UOVE‘l‘Hment with reference to the proposal ul' Union Airways to establish an air service between Auckland and \V’el—lingtoh. He states that there is a strong public feeling in \\'ellington in favour ut‘ the project and improvements to the Rongotai Aerodrome are such that there should he no technical clifllculties in the \\'tl)‘ of the service. He points yout, however. that the time—table pro‘posecl by l'nion Airwtus is such that though air travellers from the South lslanrl may make the through Journey to Auckland in one. day it will not be Ipossible for passengers from Auckland and New Plymouth to continue to 'Chrlstnhurch and Dunedin the same day. Therefore. he strongly urges that representations already made by the Auckland till-timber 01‘ Commerce for a variation of the proposed time—’table be given full \\'eip‘ht, i _—.._
