DARING BURGLAR.
ILUDID NIGHTWITGHMAN. CAUGHT PACKING CLOTHING. (By Telegraph—Press Association) \VAIPUKURAU, Tuesday. } A daring burglary exploit took place about 2.30 this morning when a man ‘thought thy a night watchman, Mr E. G. Price. to «be between 30 and 35 lyears of age was found by him on the lpremises of Messrs H. B. Poppellweii Vand Company in the main street pack—ing up men‘s clothing into boxes. The burglar escaped and apparently reached a waiting car. He left an overcoat, chisel, and tyre lever behind in his hurried exit. The criminal or a confederate evidently stole 12 gallons of petrol from Mr F. \Vells‘ garage after smashing the lock. Entry was attempted at two other shops.
