Tuesday At a meeting of the \Vaipa County Council in Te Awamutu yesterday a letter was read from the secretary of the New Zealand Counties' Association advising the \Vaipa County that a meeting or the executive‘ of the New Zealand Association would be held on Jul_y_ 17.

The County Council was invited to forward remits to the association and attention was drawn to the matter of amendments and additions to the Im« pounding Act.

Discustng the Act, which was drawn up in 1908. a membe‘r said that on account of alterations to transport meth~ ode it seemed that. the Act had cutlived its usefulness, The driving fees should be increased. The clerk- (Mr T. Grant) said that in order to administer the’ present Act it would be necessary to have the sen vloers of a ranger. Stock should not be allowed to graze on the roads and wandering stock should be forbidden. There was much to be‘ said for the remodelling of the Act. The enzineei‘ was of the opinion that the penalties should be. higher. It. was decided that Messrs S, C. Mack-y and .l. T. Johnson. and the clerk and engineer be appointed to draft re—presentations io the Countles‘ Asso—ciation. m
