ANNUAL PLUNKET MEETING

FRANKTON SUB-BRANCH. l —— i SUCCESSFUL YEAR REVIEWED. ‘ The annual meeting of the Frankton sub—branch of the Plunket society_ was held in the Fra‘nkton rooms )‘es— ' ierday afternoon. Mrs C. H. Holloway; presiding in the absence of the pre-; sident of the llamilton branch, Mrs A. .\I. Bisley. ‘ Apologies were received, after! iwhioh the annual report of the pre—l sident of the Frankt‘on sub-branch,| I.\II‘S G. Bucklnnd, was read. The re— I ‘port stated that the work at Frankton had been well maintained and the! nurse‘s reports had been very satis—l factory. Regret was expressed that some of the branoh's active members' had had to resign, but there was u large number of new members and it was hoped that the 'coming year would he a very active one. The commitIlee had assisted the Hamilton branch 'wiih their photographic competition. a llarge number of babies from Frankton‘ being entered, seine being prize—wim ners. Pleasure was felt at the help ‘ t'ul sum which had been raised as a result. In conclusion, thanks were extended to Nurse Hooker for her splendid work and for her unsrudging assistance to the branch in helping to raise funds; to those who had donated trophies. members who had given social afternoons, the Hamilton Borough Council and the \Vaikato Times. The report of the treasurer, Mrs G. Grylls, was a highly satisfactory one and showed a fair amount in hand. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. Mrs Holloway spoke of the excellent work or the Frankton branch during the year and expressed the hope that the coming year would be a sue—cussful and equally progressive one. A warm vote of thanks was extendcd to Mrs G. Buckland. who retired from the presidency after a number at years, for her untlring work on the lu‘anoh‘s behalf, by the secretary. Mrs Ewart Brown.
