NOXIOUS WEEDS
CLEARING OF FRONTAGE. RAILWAYB* LIABILITY. (Times Representative). TE AWAMUTU, Monday. When the noxious weeds inspector, Mr G. M. Wall, was reporting on the clearing of weeds from road frontages at to-day's meeting of the Waipa County Council, Mr F. L. Onion said some settlers in the Hamilton riding had cleared their frontages and the Railways Department should do likewise in the same locality. The Department should set a good example. When it was stated that other parts of the Department's land were infested with weeds a councillor said it was idle to say that the railways had insufficient men to do the olearing. There were plenty of unemployed available. It was contended that it should not be necessary to write to the Department. The weeds should be cleared each season. After further discussion it was decided to ask the district traffic manager to have the work carried out.
